Kojiro Shiraishi fixed to join Vendee Globe 2020 Announced on 30th Oct.2018
海洋冒険家:白石康次郎は２０１８年１０月３０日、次回の第９回Vendee Globe 2020-2021に参加することを正式に発表しました。
新スポンサー、DMG森精機株式会社と旧来のスポンサーの支援を受けて、予算２０億円、IMOCA60の新艇(フォイル艇）で参戦します。設計はVPLP、ドックヤードは未定です。１１月から設計、建造を始めますが、基本はJeremie Beyou新艇「Charal号」のモールドを使用して建造されます。
この艇は２０１８年８月２１日にラフォーレで進水したばかりで、２０１８年１１月４日にスタートする、「Route du Rhumレース」で非常に注目されている艇です。
白石艇は、「DMG MORI」号と命名されます。船籍は未定です。

艇の建造に１年、来年の今頃からは新艇での予備レースへの参加が予定されています。
また、新たに「DMG MORI Sailing Team」が発足しました。
目標は、「完走」です。前回のVendee Globe 2016-2017ではデスマストによる棄権というアクシデントに見舞われました。そのうえでの言葉ですので非常に重みがあります。NHK、テレビ朝日はすでにドキュメンタリー取材を開始しています。

On 30th Oct. 2018, The Ocean Explorer "Koojiro Shiraishi" officially announced that his plan has been fixed to join the Vendee Globe 2020-2021.
New Sponsor "DMG MORI" President Masahiko Mori and Kojiro Shiraishi announced the New Team "DMG MORI Sailing Team and introduced Managing Director Tony O'Connor and Kojiro's offshore team members.
Total budget will be two billion yen for 3 years and the New Boat is IMOCA60 (Foil) designed by VPLP and built at CDK Dock yard as same as Jeremie Beyou's Charal.
Charal is focused its performance on the race "Route du Rhum" starting on 4th Nov.
Kojiro Shiraishi's boat has been named as
"DMG MORI". Origin is undefined yet.
